For the occasion of the London Biennale 2006 neo-dogma-non is curating the show Human Technology at the Synergy Gallery. Once again the diverse body of artists comprising the London Biennale convene neo-dogma-non style to make you think.

David Medalla started the London Biennale in 2000 with Adam Nankervis and ever since it hasn't stopped growing. Its development is truly organic and its style down to earth. Its informal yet centralised organisation allows it to expand to all corners of the planet including all art mediums and expressions.

The inspiration for this show comes from an article I read in the New View magazine about the Strader Machine. This is a devise mentioned in some of Rudolf Steiner's lectures in the first half of the 20th Century. I found it most fascinating and it triggered all sorts of questions in my mind.

neo-dogma-non (ndn) is an art movement to raise human awareness for Human Awareness itself. It is our intention to bring the importance of human existence back to the forefront of creation. Our ethos draws from Anthropology, Buddhism, Neuroscience, Psychology and Anthroposophy to mention but a few.

In this particular exhibition one particular concept from one of our sources of inspiration serves as a catalyst to join three influential groups of the London scene in 2006: the London Biennale, neo-dogma-non and the Synergy Project. This time the theme is Human Technology: what is it? Your hands, a pen, a computer or your intention?

The Synergy Gallery was started by neo-dogma-non in the beginning of the Synergy Centre. The Centre itself was founded as the social enterprise of the Synergy Project parties where ndn also initiated the gallery. To choose the Synergy Gallery to house the Human Technology show and to include it in the London Biennale circuit was only natural. All three organisations share the gathering of creative minds from all over the world coming together to manifest emotion and make London the vibrant place it is.

Here & now: explorations of meaning, past & future possibilities, technological concepts in the 21st Century. Through a visual feast of painting, photography, mixed media, installation, video and performing art the artists explore the theme of Human Technology creating a platform for dialogue to develop between all these different mediums working under the same guise. The body of artists is truly diverse with artists from Portugal, UK, Philippines, India, Cyprus, Spain, Canada, Norway, Italy, Korea, Australia & Brazil.

neo-dogma-non is a global movement.

It gathers artists from different artistic branches and from many corners of the world making no discrimination on grounds of nationality, colour, social status or artistic belief.

ndn is about the Human Experience.

This isn't a new theme although, because it's being looked at from a different perspective, it is, in that sense new. Support for it does not impose any duties or efforts apart from the ones one is prepared to carry out for it. The only imperative for "membership" its the commitment of One's belief in the justification of the creation of the movement. Everyone is equally responsible for its development and maintenance. Any material gains providing from the movement's activities will be automatically reinserted in the furthering of the movement in the most suitable way at the time given. The movement's development, its activities and timings are to be the fruit of co-operation, co-ordination and communication amongst all 'members'. Communication between its members is an imperative as much as possible in order to maintain its consistency and credibility across time and space. By supporting the movement, artists don't loose in any way their autonomy and/or individuality.The artist’s participation in any of the movements activities are an expression of the artist's acceptance and recognition of the movement and acknowledgement of one's Human Condition.

This movement is declaring that Man is not at the centre of the Universe but is PART of it. It marks the passage from the anthropocentric view adapted since the 16th Century, to a view reflecting our rediscovery of Humankind's place in the Universe.The movement must acknowledge an influence from Buddhism, Anthroposophy, I-Chi, Theosophy, Zen, Neuroscience, Anthropology to name only but a few.

The movement intends to raise awareness for Human Awareness & to bring the different Sciences together in order to maximize Humanity’s potential & manifest a sustainable existence.

neo-dogma-non is a lifestyle, a "new" way of thinking, living and being in the 21st Century (considering time is relative and subjective).

It is our intention to bring the importance of Human Existence back to the forefront of creation.

MANIFESTO FOR THE YEAR 2000

1. We, who had enough of this cynicism and hypocrisy.
2. We, who had enough of this so called Democracy (and please don’t ask me to define Democracy as that would perpetuate the entanglement we have put ourselves in ).
3. We, who are officially declaring that we live in times of change, like those of the 16th Century when Galilee discovered that it was not the Sun that went around the Earth, but the other way around.
4. We, who find it difficult to live this insanity, and being called mad on top.
5. We, who can feel the connection with the Earth, which has been denied and replaced by political systems and economical interests.
6. We, who refuse to be unhappy; we who have not bought into the idea that happiness is to be won or deserved; we who know happiness is a right and an unavoidable conclusion.
7. We, who can’t live without brainfood of all kinds.
8. We, who can feel the energy flowing.
9. We, who know that if one wants something the whole universe will conspire with one.
10. We, who realise the human potential and it is wasted, taken into directions which are not the most beneficial for the whole.
11. We, who thrive to live and wished to die.
